At 16,000 feet, Roopkund felt like another world.
The climb was freezing, raw, and breathtaking—towering snow-covered peaks all around, winds slicing through the silence, and our group huddled together with unstoppable excitement. Each step toward the iconic “Skeleton Lake” felt surreal, especially when we finally stood beside ancient bones resting quietly in the Himalayas. The trail tested my stamina but filled me with awe at every turn. Sunrise over the mountains, the camaraderie, the cold laughter, and the sheer scale of nature made this trek unforgettable. Roopkund wasn’t just a hike—it was an experience etched into my bones.

How did it all begin? It all started with registering on India Hikes. My brother and I, along with my friend Adi, registered. Initially, we were skeptical, but the entire trip remains etched in my memory even after a decade.

Reflecting on it, things have definitely evolved. It seems that taking things slowly and being consistent is more important than just going fast.
My next goal is not to reach the 17,000-mile mark, but rather to embark on another hike.
